Migration of SAP RE-FX to S/4HANA for MANGO

  • On 31st December 2027, SAP will no longer support all versions of the ERP prior to S/4HANA

  • MANGO is a Spanish company with one of the largest international presences: it has stores in more than 100 countries

Effectively and safely, applying intelligence and being very rigorous in planning and processes. At LOYIC this is how we tackle migration projects from SAP RE-FX to S/4HANA. This is what we have done with MANGO a Spanish company with one of the largest international presences: it has stores in more than 100 countries.

The future of SAP is SAP S/4HANA, whose implementation will be mandatory by 31st December 2027 (extendable to 2030). As of those dates, the German multinational will no longer support previous versions of the ERP. Therefore, one of the biggest challenges facing companies which up until now have worked with traditional SAP solutions, is the migration to SAP S/4HANA.

2028 may seem in the distant future, but time passes quickly. The level of urgency will depend on the type of company and the number of SAP modules that are used. The recommendation is not to rest on your laurels and to find yourself a trusted partner as soon as possible. A partner should have experience in migrations to SAP S/4HANA and should start to tackle the transition immediately: a good situational audit, migration design (direct or in phases) and planning of processes and deadlines.

MANGO has been a pioneer. At LOYIC we have worked with their team to carry out the migration from SAP RE-FX to S/4HANA. In addition to being able to cover the requirements of the new international accounting law IFRS16 -in force from 1st January 2019-, the textile company already has full coverage in the new SAP platform of the procedures for the management of leases, as well as an optimisation of the impacted processes with a standard solution that offers greater stability.

With MANGO we have worked on:

  • Monitoring the validity of contracts, bearing in mind extensions and terminations.
  • The provision and accounting of fixed income and other expenses.
  • The calculation, provision and accounting of variable income.
  • The periodification of prepaid incomes that have a periodicity which differs from monthly.
  • The valuation and accounting of the IFRS16 rule, as well as the local GAAPs.

As the receipt and payment of invoices had to be executed through the Finance module (FI), we implemented our invoice conciliation solution allowing the invoice posted in Finance (FI) to be compared with the provision posted in RE-FX. This was in order to identify the differences and confirm that the payment is correct in each case.

With this project, MANGO has already been installed in the future of SAP. As well as being able to forget about maintaining previous versions of ERP, important technical and functional advancements offered by S/4 HANA can be used, such as real-time analytics, performance enhancement and an optimised user experience.
